“Dear Mom I will love you forever.”
The Circle of life pendant that now hold my mother’s ashes is all that I have left after she died suddenly at the age of 66-year-old. That night after a wonderful family dinner at one of my mom’s favorite restaurants she had a heart attack.
Now three years later when I hold my pendant, I don’t focus on the events that took place that night or the guilt I felt that I was unable to breathe life back into her. I focus on all the experiences and lessons we shared.
Every time I hold on to my pendant, it’s a reminder that life is uncertain. I decided that I will live life today, not worrying about tomorrow and not dwelling on yesterday.
Every time I hold on to my pendant, I see my mother beautiful and youthful, her smile still uplifting and motivating reminding me that I am my mother’s daughter with the courage and strength not just to overcome obstacles, misfortunes and survive but that I have the courage and strength to forgive and heal so that I can start to live my best life.
